Chronic lymphocytic leukemia- A treatable cancer

Overview
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a type of cancerof the blood and bone marrow in which the bone marrow makes more lymphocytes than required. CLL mainly affects older adults and accounts for about one-third of all leukemias. It is most common in adults, with 70 being the average age of diagnosis. The incidence rate of CLL in India is 0.41 per 100 000. Patients with CLL need routine health monitoring to ensure that cancer doesn't return.
